Great review - I was sitting with Terry on Wednesday listening to the AN E with Chipboard with a nice little Rotel integrated and Teac CD player - Terry was putting a budget system together. $3200.00Cdn based around the E's - good luck finding better.Next time you're out there get him to put on the little AX Two standmount - stupidly good speaker for $700.00Cdn. I currently have the J's and will be writing a review when I get some time. Terry is interesting - he just plays music - doesn't seem to pay attention to the models or the prices etc just likes to listen to stuff. He's got the salesman to sell it.
I think your review especialy when it comes to bass definition and especially microdynamics is where there is a notable improvement over all the other brands they carry. There was a fellow shopper in the day I was there from my town and he had had the Totem Mani Two's for 6 years. The E's ruined him - he sold the Mani's off real fast. It's the subtlety and the definition especialy in the upper register that continuously seems correct and effortless and interestingly more extended than the other speakers I auditioned there.
Your insights are about the same as mine...lots of luck going back to the usual suspects speaker makers - there is no going back.
