I heard them at the dealer's house.
With Naim CDP and pre they really sounded like a rock concert. The Wilson Sophias had Levinson gear. There was a lot of bass but it was bloated slow, ill-defined and took away from the musical message. Wilson's have better dispersion (bigger sweet spot) and look nice. But in areas of detail without harshness, great bass with slam, etc. there is just no comparison IMHO. What especially struck me was the cymbals on a piece by the London Symphony Orchestra. There were 3-4-5 LAYERS of decay and shimmer whereas my Nautilus were just 1-2 layers. I've never heard a speaker that matched what ATC's could do with cymbals on that piece.
I have not heard the older B&W Matrix but I think they are more relaxed than the newer Nautilus and that is why recording studios (Abbey Road) droped ATC - they need to hear more on the recording and I think B&W gives it to them.
