I was running Double Advents back in the early 80's when I built a Hafler DH-101 Preamp from a kit. I remember firing it up in the middle of the night and - for the first time, I heard what we now refer to as sound stage - depth, layering etc. Not up to today's standards by any stretch but still - soundstaging. The recording was the Atlanta Symhony Polovtsian Dances on Telarc.TT was an Ariston RD11-S, Arm was Grace 707, Cartridge was Grace F9-E, Amp was (I think) Phase Linear 400.
