VSM-SE Batt BAMs for a year and, try as I could with different dacs, amps, and wires....I couldn't get rid of the over-detailing. I also took great care to dampen the room...no go!
The SF are musical to a fault, and this is with my Edge ss amp. The balance of the sound means I don't miss those one or two octaves very much (perhaps a sub in the future, but I really don't feel overriding pressure to get one).
