Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Geez...

...RGA - you have not heard the Revels, the new Infinities (IIRC), the Maggies, the Josephs, OR the new S2... why bother bringing them up in conversation? BTW - the Revels and Infinities have the same parent company, but they're not twins in the sound department. And, ALL speakers (or any other piece of equipment) get mixed results.

However, you are correct... you should take the time to listen to everything possible, even brands that aren't bandied around on a daily basis. I was curious about the de Capos, and they are indeed a great transducer. But, hey... if it's not available in your area for a demo, what can you do? In my eyes, anyone bothering to read the Audio Asylum implies they are diligent enough to do their research (in most cases).

I think the crux of the "between the lines reading" of your last post is your distain for Paradigm (or at least it's success, when one should be looking at smaller companies) and big bully conclomerates (ala Harman). Again - you're right... just because it comes from a large cooperation do not gaurantee greatness, but you should listen before grumblimg.
