Re: Second the Soliloquys

Yeah I have read the same reviews about boomy bass. But sometimes it's best to findout for yourself. Bass will start off heavy if they are new,but giving them a good 500 hrs of playing and it's another world! The sound will completely change.Even the highs start a little rolled off but the tweeter is designed the same way.I had to sell my nordost blue heaven speaker wires after the Soliloquys broke in.Images are solid and soundstage is wide and deep. These speakers don't like recievers very well.Pair them with quality components and you will be in heaven.I have certain recordings that I have heard many times. But after owning these and going thru several amps.I discovered in the same recordings I could actually hear the singer turn her head and know the direction she turned! No midfi speaker can do this! And some highly regarded can't do this either. One of the guys on audiogons forum who owns the 5.3s upgraded to Aerial T 10s.And found out that it really wasn't an upgrade.Think about it... when is the last time you heard a 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 inch driver sound boomy! I have heard many 8,10 and 12 inch drivers that are so slow it made me nauseas! Good luck to you and trust your ears first.
