Velodyne SPL-800 (8") an upgrade to Velodyne CHT10-(10")???

I have a CHT-10, I mainly used it 70% for vid games and HT.
30% for music.
Looking for something smaller, w/better accuracy and similar depth/boom. (under $600 used and smaller)
Will the Velodyne SPL-800 be a sensible upgrade?
(for do I need something bigger than an 8" sub to match the 10" velodyne boom/depth).

I have PSB-4T towers (so there is some amout of bass depth)
