Have you tried any Audio Research, Cary, CJ tube preamps?? Your choice of amps are limited for solid state since 3.6s are not easy to drive with a tube amp. However, a tube preamp can make a significant difference in the sound quality of your system. You can easily find something around $1000. I have tried both AR and CJ with great results.
