Re: Port location

Good news and bad news. In theory the port being behind the midbass is NG as it would allow midrange a direct line out of the port, which is generally not a good thing. But with a rear-firing port things arne't so bad as those midrange frequencies may not be able to make the turn from the rear of the cabinet to mess up response. Still, all things considered I'd move the port or,if you have room inside, add a 'shelf' style brace between the driver and port that will eliminate the problem, being sure to line that brace with damping material so that it doesn't create problems of its own.
