Well my $.02. I have ProAc monitors and Target stands, 20lbs of lead shot in each pillar. They do make the bass/midbass cleaner, I can hear low end "air" especially on Dave Brubeck at Carnegie Hall, and Ani DiFranco's later albums. The Allisons liked being on the back of some old Advent cabs lying face down. So you have to try for yourself. Also consider the floor and wall construction of where you listen. You have to look at the gear and room as a system. Glad you found a tweak that works:-).
