It was recorded live at a private party during his 1988 tour and is a mixing desk recording.
If you have ever thought of a less likely artist to tell a "knock knock" joke I can't imagine who!
The copy I have is labelled as being on Beech Marten RECORDS, NUMBERED bm 047/2 and was made in Italy.

I only found it searching for the recording and as it says at the site "This is the infamous Small Club show that is arguably the greatest live Prince bootleg ever! It features superb sound quality, several great covers, a couple tracks unreleased at the time, and one improvised song that has never been heard before or since (People Without)!!"
