this song was from letters written by a father in Ireland to his son who went to America...
never to return to see the old man. It is, bar none, the saddest song I ever have heard and man, I have heard many. There are 2 versions, the first is new to me, the second is the one that I use when I've tipped the Single Malt and get to feeling homesick....but...as they say, you can't go home again.

Some may prefer this version, I certainly do.
