I really like this Newcastle (just north of Sydney, Australia) band - I enjoy the off-kilter melodies etc. I generally agree with Dave below, regarding the one-dimensionality, tho I feel that the compositions have enough relative variation, with the sameness due to the intentionally flat 'n' fuzzy production, which removes some of the directness of communication and - for me - emotional connection. Changes in arrangements, tempo, nuance, etc. seem to lack impact, substance, and significance; lyrics don't capture my attention as they might... emotional connection is diluted a little, with the album leaving me feeling a little emotionally monotone).
That said, it is really an honest album that has a unique freshness about it; emotionally, it puts be in a similar place to Shelleyan Orphan's Humroot, yet not quite. Yes, I like.
