I've slowly been replacing my favorite rock CD's with vinyl, one album at a time. I'm amazed at how often I hear things I never heard in CDs that have been in heavy rotation here for years.

Today I picked up Pavement's "Crooked Rain Crooked Rain" on vinyl, which I've listened to hundreds of times on CD. I'm amazed at things I'm hearing on this - subtle effects like ring modulators on guitars, keyboard parts I never noticed, and and much broader dynamics among the musicians - the degree to which they get quiet together at certain points on the record.

I'm curious if there are other albums anyone's had this experience with - a pronounced difference in the listening experience.
