Yes Dave, I believe Schaddenfreud is spelled correctly. However, you may want to re-examine your spelling of correctly :)
I fully agree with your observations on the current state of social awareness, and moral accountability within our "communities". I can only begin to imagine some of the horrors we would witness, if the paparazzi were constantly stalking our cities homeless encampments, but they are not. Instead we are treated day after day to the steady decline of Amy, Britney (although she seems to be on the mend), Lyndsay, Pete, whoever. Of course, these people are public figures who have placed themselves in the limelight, and therefore are more susceptible to having their indiscretions documented and sold to the highest bidder. What I take exception to, is the completely irresponsible, mean spirited, sensationalism by the media of people that are so obviously in need of help. I'm sorry, I not presenting my argument as eloquently as I would like, but I think you get my gist...
And, yes I am familiar with both Lou and Iggy's stories.
