just flew on my shoulder & assured me that if a guy in the position of this reviewer saw the Stones the way you do, he would not be afraid to publish a piece expressing this view. Chet Flippo had no such fear, in spite of the cult of personality in play 30 years ago, or the possibility that a reviewer might phone it in due to to being starstruck. If you wish to believe that, I'll leave you to it. And I'm not the guy's brother-in-law, either. But I do know that the guy isn't afraid to call it as he sees it. If you think he's in the tank for the Stones, or Scorsese, or whoever, I leave you to that.

But I will tell you with great certainty that that would be a foolish position to hold.
