You post ridiculous, ignorant, ad hominem remarks about me, who merely expressed an opinion, and you want to lecture me about respect? About "class"?
What do you know about class? Apparently, NOTHING.
What the heck do you know about me? NOTHING.
What do you know about Stephen Holden? NOT SO MUCH.
Holden worked at the Times for a number of years primarily, if not exclusively, as a music critic. So he's been reviewing movies for a few years? So what? He's STILL reviewing music. Does that make him a music critic? Your list, such as it is, does not contain a single movie review dated before 1994. Holden has been writing about music since the '70's.
If you want to disagree with the notion that Holden or any critic might be constrained in his remarks by the Stone's special status, that's fine. It was a side issue to my initial post, anyway. Just leave out the infantile and totally extraneous and unprovoked diatribes against someone, like you, who is only trying to make a contribution to this forum.
I post what I think of as "thought-provoking" opinions, or observations that I simply wish to share in a public forum. Only the immature and the intellectually insecure get "pissed off" at them. The rest find more contructive and congenial ways to disagree.
I am not here to genuflect before any artist or any notion. And I am not here to subject my self to cheapshots.
