RE: Lita Ford, "Shot Of Poison"

I saw her this past December. The bulk of the shots are not yet up on flickr, but I did add some to the diary portion of my website.

I admit to always being rather smitten with her. I saw her "open" for Queensryche a number of years ago. She came on the in the middle of their set and played with QR for about half an hour. That was when she was married to Jim Gillette.

When I saw her in December she was supporting her book "My Life as a Runaway." I always found it, well, odd, that Ford seemed to take a backseat to Joan Jett, who made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, from what I can tell, largely on the back of three songs, one of which was a cover.

From the little research I did, two members (Ford) wanted the Runaways to be more of a hard rock/metal band, and two (Jett) wanted more punk, and so the band broke up due to musical differences. To my ears, while Ford went in a hard rock direction, Jett ironically did not go in a punk direction. Oh, well.
