Could be a typo.

Here in SF we were stuck with Selvin as the "pop/rock" writer for the SF Chronicle for years and years and years and years
and I've always considered him to be basically a hack that got lucky and set a rather low standard trying to fill the rather
high standard that presided him.

Fortunately he no longer fills that role and has shifted into writing books on (mostly) dead rockers/musicians, which he is actually pretty good at.

Unfortunately he'll never run out of material.
