Just got my first SACD: Rolling Stones "Let It Bleed". $13.99 at Best Buy. Yes, it's comparable, perhaps better, to a good vinyl. That said, some of the cuts are not as good as I'd hoped. The music is a bit dated. Some of the lyrics are downright stupid. I thought this was an important album way back. Some cuts still stand out. Guess I've changed a bit since '69 or whenever this came out.In the future, think I'll stick mostly with the classical and jazz reissues. I'm tempted by CCR. Perhaps they'll wear better than the Stones.
I'm wondering whether we need a forum to review these re-re issues. Is it realy worthwhile to buy these guys yet again? In this case, if you have the vinyl and a decent kit, I'd say no. Not the staying power of the Beatles IMO. Or Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Wagner, etc.
