i discovered eva from a thread on the asylum about 3 months ago. since then i have listened to at least one eva cut every day. she has it all; power, clarity, beauty and especially emotion. she is the most versatile female vocalist i have heard. more than once the emotion in her music has brought tears to my eyes.there are 4 eva cassidy cds. try "live at blues alley" and "songbird" first. if you like those the other ones are "time after time" and "eva by heart". all on "blix street" records in the folk section.
tragically, she died of cancer in 1996 at the age of 33. when you listen to her music you will be amazed that she was not more widely known or promoted.
2 months ago i played one cut at our monthly audio club meeting and eva had 15 or 20 additional fans.
