It maintains an Asylum tradition of believing in what you believe in and talking about it. It also keeps alive a moribund tradition of talking about jazz. I'm probably imagining this, but there don't seem to be much discussion of classical musicians of the past either. When was the last time anyone argued about the superiority of Klemperer or Furtwangler? A long time I think. The focus here seems to have narrowed considerably. It would be nice if it opened up some. (Sez me.)
