AFter hearing Blomstedt conduct a crackerjack 7th symphony with the Cleveland Orchestra, I bought the Dresden set. I was underwhelmed. The sound isn't great, and the performances seem under-energized. My favorites of recent sets are the Haitink/LSO (which has excellent stereo and multichannel tracks on a hybrid SACD) and Zinman/Zurich Tonhalle for something a little leaner.
