There are so many great recordings of these works that I couldn't even begin to assert that there's a "best" one. If I started to list some that I like, I'm sure I'd be forgetting or omitting some magnificent ones. I don't have any argument about any of the recordings recommended thus far in this thread. (As mentioned, I haven't heard the Herrewegh performance of the Seventh recommended by Roy - reading the comments on Amazon however, it would seem to be a performance for listeners who prefer "Bruckner-lite".) ;-)
