I never heard a Francescatti performance I didn't enjoy. One of my favorites, along with the Beethoven sonatsw (Casadesus) is the 1954Tchaikovsky Concerto (NY Phil/Mitropoulos).

He recorded it later in stereo with NY Phil/Schippers; havcen't heard that one. Nor have I heard a 1943 broadcast conducted by Rodzinski. All three recordings are on youtube.
