She is my favorite violinist.
Though her style is different from Haifetz', she has replaced him as my favorite for most music.
She has better bow technique than I thought possible.
She is all about finesse, and not at about power. I love her early performance of the Beethoven violin concerto.
Oddly and shockingly, I don't like her performances of Vaughn Williams works. I thought her quiet finesse would be a perfect fit; instead, the performances are lifelesso, at least to me.
Her really early (16 years old at the time) recording of the Bach partitas is to be avoided. They're very well played, and waaaaay too slow.
I got to see her live, second row center. At the end of the concert my face hurt because I had been smiling for so long.
