Courtesy of the principal flutist of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, now led by the great Sir Simon Rattle, using 19th-century old system flutes. This is quite simply miles ahead of any other performance of Bruckner. Also a revelation for Brahms, Wagner, Mahler and Liszt. The historically correct techniques and instruments, especially the avoidance of the tasteless vibrato that has become so common today, yield a fresh and beautiful sound.
This isn't just a good way to play this music. It's the only way, and exactly what each of these composers intended.
