Actually, she plays the standard flute repertoire one would expect. And flute soloists routinely play transcriptions of the Mendelssohn violin concerto these days, not just her.
To me she has a beautiful and, for the current era, an unusually characterful sound. But I agree that she isn't tops when it comes to virtuoso fireworks and can sound labored and muddled. You obviously went beyond the Schumann Romances I recommended and linked to.
For much more virtuoso facility, check out Denis Bouriakov. He is not a favorite of mine, but boy, can he ever whip through the Mendelssohn violin concerto, for example.
