It's not Rodgers and Hammerstein. The art of writing music and lyrics is seldom seen.
Even a rudimentary understanding of what's worth singing about is scarce. For instance, AFAIK Bob Dylan was alone among American recording artists to mark the 100th anniversary of the Titanic disaster on his album 'Tempest' which was released in 2012.
Of course, I listen to what I like. I'm not going to subject myself to Hamilton. But I feel sorry for young people because the sound track of their generation is so crappy.
