Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Dunno why I hadn't heard until a few minutes ago, but R.I.P. Joe Temperley.

Joe died on the 11th, and still sounded great into his '80's. I was fortunate to do quite a bit of playing with Joe in David Berger's big band years ago. Helluva baritone/bass clarinet player. Great guy, fantastic warm sound on all his instruments (including soprano), and a really funny man with countless stories. He was the bari player in the Lincoln Center band for decades, and recorded/played with his own small groups.

You can check out his playing at the link below. He will be missed by many - really one of a kind.
