It's interesting to me that Klugewicz rates Saint-Saiens and Berlioz's masses highly, according to his interpretation of Christianity, when neither of these were known to be particularly religious.
Debate: Is the religious feeling in the "religious" works by such composers "fake"? Could an "innocent ear" tell the degree of commitment by the composer to the dogma expressed in these masses?
