I'm happy with orchestral highlights of Wagner. I especially like Maazel's "The Ring Without Words." I just have a very difficult time sitting through the actual operas, because .... dragging boredom.
As for other operas, most are basically okay. I like Rimsky-Korsakov's operas, some others. Many are silly, shallow or trivial, although with lovely arias.
But Wagner. So far .... well, I just need to work on that.
