You know, I justify my view of Rosenkavalier as an emulation of Beethoven's outlook on Mozart's da Ponte operas - he thought they were immoral. Well, actually I love Figaro and Don Giovanni myself (Cosi is kind of a puzzlement to me). Also - I love Walkure, and try to ignore that fact that Siegmund and Sieglinde are brother and sister.....I just don't want to think about that!
