Somehow, Cleve got to be friends with Nathan Milstein near the end of Milstein's career. Milstein got him a gig with the RPO in London, and the program also included Brahms's Fourth Symphony. Cleve played me a tape of that performance (i.e., with him conducting the RPO) - it was excellent, no question about it.
