I love the separate categories 20-21st century (atonal) and (tonal). Karlheinz Stockhausen versus Ralph Vaughan Williams. That sets the boundaries, doesn't it? But what about music that has elements of both, as with Olivier Messiaen, Arvo Pärt, and even Leonard Bernstein, to pick three totally random examples?
