When it comes to analog experiences, I like to cover instances where even the millennials will get the audiophile bug, under the right circumstances.
My favorite digital music format is still Redbook CD played on a good dedicated CD player..... Even though I do prefer MP3 over FLAC, that's relative.... For aside from YouTube and downloaded concert videos, I don't even listen to music on a computer..... And rarely do so on a portable. (I'd use portables more if I thought I could enjoy the music to the degree that I can on a home system.... But no dice. I've yet to hear a file-based portable that I think approaches good CD playback.)
My next experiment will be recording some CDs to analog cassettes. (I just hope the Tascam 122 MkII is a reliable machine. Naks have gotten me gun shy.) Want to find out if I enjoy CD-based music more when there's no active digital processing going on.
