That left-handed tom part was pretty special. But to Ed's defense, Buddy's job was to do multiple solos every night of the year.

As for the quality of his band's playing, I saw him with a small ensemble in a small club years ago and he completely overpowered the sound of the group. You had to be there mainly to hear him because you could barely hear the other members, especially since he was set up front and center.
