Yeah, can't agree with too much there, nor can I imagine Miles or Coltrane agreeing much. Sure, jazz has had entertainers, and there are plenty today. I think it's the music and musicians that keep it going, not the entertainers. Jazz is not the pop music of the day today, comparisons with those days are of limited value.
