Despite her REMARKABLE performance, I have to say that she's just not my type! ;-)
The reason I was away was that I just jettisoned a bunch of CD's and acquired $195 worth of new discs (new to me that is - they're mostly used), including the complete Solti Ring on a single blu-ray audio disc (I've got Das Rheingold playing right now), Natasha's Tchaikovsky/Rachmaninoff disc from a couple of years ago, Jurowski's new LPO recording of Vaughan Williams' Symphony No. 8, the Slatkin/Lyon Blu-ray audio disc of Berlioz' Harold in Italy with Lise Bertraud (even though I swore I'd never get one of those punchless Slatkin/Lyon discs ever again!), but the temptation to hear Lise (definitely my type of classical babe!) in this work was just too strong!
