The orchestra looked pretty young and diverse, much like Fischer's Budapest. They didn't sound like the old orchestra, based upon record listening. Brass much more rounded and the SR strings--while gorgeous in places--didn't have that wonderfully glassy quality of Ansermet's orchestra. OTOH, the oboist threw and unusually twangy sound when providing tuning note.
Yes, it's going to be sad to see Dutoit age out of the picture. Such an enthusiastic guy! Oh, FWIW, his hair is shoulder-length and pretty dark. Natural, I'm sure. : )
