I like the original band better...

...but this is an interesting take. This band seems to struggle with some of the written ensemble passages but this really was never their bag, I guess.

Black Codes was, for me, unquestionably one of the most important jazz albums of its time. Dana Hall and I used to talk about that record...he feels much the same about it. J-Mood and Think of One are good too, but Black Codes is really something special.
