I've been trying to resist, since I have other recordings of the Nutcracker which I love (in particular, the Dorati/LSO on SACD), but I think it's only a matter of time before I capitulate and download Järvi's new performance (in hi-rez MC). As I've lived with my hi-rez MC downloads of Järvi's Sleeping Beauty and his Swan Lake, I still feel that there are a couple of sections in each work where he verges on the slapdash, but that still doesn't prevent me from preferring his accounts of these two complete ballets to any others right now (not least because of Chandos' spectacular sonics!).
Yeah - especially in view of your comment that Järvi is slower in the Nutcracker than Gergiev is, I'm sure I'll be clicking that "download" button very soon!
BTW, I don't know long this has been going on, but Presto Classical in the UK now has a large selection of 24-bit downloads (2-channel only), many of which I have not found on other sites.
