Just in time for the Holiday Season, The Classical Shop has released the last of the Tchaikovsky ballets, The Nutcraker, on 24/96 hires stereo and "Studio Surround," with Neeme Jarvi and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.
I downloaded the stereo version yesterday. The sound quality is excellent, and the performance is fairly breathtaking. Although Jarvi doesn't seem to go as fast as Gergiev and Kirov, the dancers will be very tired after this performance! To me this is the best recording yet in the Jarvi traversal, but that may be colored by being the first I've listened to with my new KEF LS50 speakers.
Chris, you need to download the "Studio Surround" and give us a review.
