RE: Tuba Mirum; How Did Mozart Always Know

They say Mozart had perfect pitch. Apparently he used that skill to write music most suitable for the various instruments he had available and within the technical ability of not just the isntrument but the players. His clarinet stuff is dotted with some rather obscene comments for the player he wrote them for....

Amadeus alludes to that ability in the composition he wrote for the soprano that Salieri was teaching ( all those arpeggios !)

In a way he was like Duke Ellington who wrote pieces based on the current strength of his band...

If he had only lived longer....
