It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

RE: Handel - Alcina & Orlando / Christe, Les Arts Florissants

Hi Jay! Yes, it is.

At first I felt that Christie's deep and abiding commitment to and love of the French Baroque might diminish my pleasure in any of his ventures outside that. But I haven't found that to be the case - that I can recall. Perhaps his commitment to finding out and nailing things down plays a bigger role than that initial deep commitment to the French style.

We listen almost all the time to one FM station down below - ABC Classic FM down here - you can click below my signature block to l-o-line. We wake up to it on the bedroom system. and listen to it in the FR-kitchen and in the car. Sometimes if there's a really good live concert or re-broadcast, on the main system with the spheres and valves. It is like having a free and ongoing education in classical music.

Also copy and click here here in the text to find 'music listings' these are arranged by day but some forward program information is entered.

There is one regular program I think you might like - and it can be pod-casted. It is 'Keys to Music' presented by Graham Abbott. Most recent hour was on the two brothers' Lawes. Who were an important bridge from Elizabethan music to Purcell.

ABC Classic FM is akin to Radio 3 at the BBC but with an Aussie flavour. See what you think. There are IMO too many station and recording promos, but at least they aren't a LOT LOUDER than the music items.

See what you think?
