Whereas a Strad in original condition would look very different to a violinist, and would feel quite different to play, no? Let alone that the original bow would be another give away.IIRC the tests (there were two?) asked the musicians to state which one they'd prefer to play. So it would be feel and sound alone to each player. And, I don't think they were told one was a Strad, or to pick out the old one, wouldn't be a proper test then, would it?
Give them a Jacobus Stainer from the Smithsonian, maybe?
