So many great artists, in any medium, are socially dysfunctional. They live for their art. They communicate through their art. Their art s the core of their life.
If you watch a wonderful and tragic film like "Camille Claudel" or "Pollack" or the film about Rachmaninoff called "The Harvest of Sorrow" or piece together the life of Tchaikovsky from various sources, or so many other great artists, one comes away with picture after picture of creative, driven, but often tortured souls.
In ways, it is sad, but the art they create is the price they pay. A high price, to be sure.
