Similarly, those who defend him I find somewhat contemptible. Lewis Carroll was a child pornographer, too, though of a different sort: he took extremely suggestive pictures of young girls. Some defend him by saying, and I know this sounds ridiculous, that standards in Victorian England were different.
Sorry to rant.
