but there are certain works I loved from the beginning: the 3rd Piano Trio, the Violin Concerto, and the 2nd Piano Concerto. Lately the Clarinet Sonatas are an especial favorite. I don't think there is any bad Brahms chamber music. I even like the much maligned string quartets.
Also, the Serenades are a nice antidote if the Symphonies are too heavy.
