I like your recommendations, both music and performances. There is no question that Brahms had a lighter side, and even the more serious and dramatic chamber works, like the string sextets and clarinet quintet, sometimes suffer IMO from a too heavy, plodding approach, as if everything should be played with the German Requiem in mind.
